The name of the place of Subbiano has latin roots: Sub Jano conditum, that means built up by Giano or at the eve of Giano.
Mr Giovanni Randelli, an historian of 16th century attributed to Giano even the creation of Arezzo.

Giano was the symbol and the end of everything. Its double face image appeared even in the book axe.
It is a village placed amid the town of Arezzo and the Casentino Valley. There are still many vineyards for the production of wine of the Wineroad “Terre di Arezzo” and there you can find even good products such as cheese and salami.
