As an historical farm in Montepulciano, GATTAVECCHI is the name of a family who, for 4 generations has been committed in wine production.
Further to the purchase of the Cellar Simoneschi-Baroncelli since the 1958 The Nobile Wine "GATTAVECCHI" has been resting and aging in a unique and suitable environment.
Grapes sorted out and coming from the Argiano, Cervognano and Le Caggiole estates are subjected to the production of a high quality "Nobile" wine.
In the undersoil caves and in the rooms of the ancient convent, close to the church of Santa Maria dei Servi, the wines use to rest for over 2 years before reaching the markets of the whole world.
For the half of the 80's Mr. Valente Gattavecchi's sons Luca, Gionata and Daniela by themselves have been specifically caring about the farm management by causing the actual development with the increase of the wine growing areas and the building of a modern cellar.
Besides of the usual mean markets such as Germany and the U.S.A. nowadays the Gattavecchi wines use to reach many countries, among which are Japan, Hong Kong, Malaisia, Australia and New Zealand.
