The farm house “Guerrini” was born in 1972 thanks to a gift by Orfeo Guerrini to his son Eugenio of 3 hectars of Chianti vineyards with a small cellar joined. During the decade 1990-2000 the farm has been enlarged to the Communes jurisdictions of Pergine Valdarno and Bucine up to reach an extension of over 145 hectares, tilled as vineyards, olive groves and sowings.
Even a growing of cows and sheeps is activated besides of fsrm holiday reception.
Our farm lays inside the triangle among Siena (36 km far), Arezzo (18 km far) and Firenze (50 km far). The land is made of a group of hills that shares the Arno Valley and links itself to the Siena area by the natural corridor made of the Scerfio and Ambra rivers. Vineyards, Olive groves, woods and chestnut trees, colony houses, farms and many small villages with rocks and castles make a real jewel of that land.
The lands
The lands usually show themselves with a thick skeleton and alkaline matrix. Somehow they are made of a medium dough and tend to become clayful. The tilled land slowly going up on the hills, is not so much deep by exalting a vine tilling of low amount of product but excellent at the end.
The wine
The vine tilling covers 25 hectars, while 7 hectars more are still to be activated. The vineyards extend along the hill shoulders by mixing with other tillings and particularly with the surrounding olive groves. The most important wine production is a “Chianti” certified and granted name of origin (DOCG). Other wines belong to the “Pietrsviva” Certified Name of Origin (DOC) and “Toscana” Typical Geographical Indication (IGT). The vineyards exposition is turned to optimize the benefits of sunbeams.
The typical products – Sheep cheese, salami and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
The sheeps are grown by green fodders or hays coming fro natural pastures in the production area; that ensures a genuine milk for a unique taste cheese.
Our porks are grown wild in an oak wood of about 12 hectars width. We work the meats only by adding genuine ingredients.
The Olive Oil - A tasting is enough to fully appreciate the production methods and their effect. Thanks to the land structure you obtain an excellent product in which all the qualities of the Tuscan olive oil mix one to anyother: scarse acidity, intense green colour and strong and fruity smells.
