Corezzo has been reminded for 967 by a document which Ottone 1st gave it as a feud to the Earls of Chiusi.
After those latter the Guidi Earls followed by and eventually the Florentine Republic.
The village is surrounded by houses of recent building and it is concentred around the main square where you can still see a
Medicis escutcheon on a wall and that should belong to the original owner of the Castle.
Corezzo is well equipped both concerning the sport and school plants and it lays in a strange and panoramic position.
It shows itself as a rather vivacious centre though even there the resident inhabitants have diminished more than the half
during the last 25 years. 2 paths signed by Italian Alpine Club (C.A.I.). The n.59 towards Bagno di Romagna through
the Serra Pass and the n.56 as a link to the GEA path beneath the Poggio Magiovanna (hill).
