The IL RIGO Inn draws its name from a small flood that flows in and around, in the middle of gentle hills of Senese “Crete”. The estate is made up of other buildings respecting the original Tuscan style. Casabianca, is a stone cottage that preserves the original plant dated of 16th century. On one of the walls a coat of arms dated of 1572 witness of the belonging of that building to the Santa MariadellaScalaHospital. The Poggio Bacoca in red bricks has been built up in the 30s to receive families of sharecroppers who tilled the fields there. It lays upon a hill in front of Casabianca stone cottage. Where it is 500 meters far from in a panoramic position. Its name comes from some apricot trees surrounding the building.
Naldi Abbot’s House
At the no.24 of Dante Alighieri Street, among the several monuments of the town you can find the Simonelli-SantiPalace that once was the “House of abbot Naldi”. It was built up in XVII century for matteo Naldi, a senese doctor and scientist, chief physician of Pope Alexander 7th Chigi, in 1684 it passed to the Simonellis. Since that time it has always been the house in San Quirico of this family and the owner’s house of the “IL RIGO” farm. The breakfast is included and is served on the ground floor by “Il Pozzo” Café Wine bar.
