In the ancient country house San Gregorio, the seat of our farm, we offer hospitality in rooms and apartments provided with a wonderful garden according to the experience achieved in the farm holidays Cretaiole owned by the family yet.
The family contest grants for a real touch with the country life of Orcia Valley. The estate has been recovered by respecting the criteria of usefulness and maintaining the featuring country buildings that allow our guest to live in a genuine and traditional environment.
Moreover, who comes to us, can try and buy the farm products such as extravirgin olive oil and Orcia Doc Wine and all that country offers everyday such as fresh eggs and vegetables from the vegetable garden.
Olive Oil – The farm has 900 olive trees of the most precious and featuring varieties in Toscana (Frantoio, Leccino, Pendolino, Moraiolo) that produce an oil of an high quality and Igp certified.
The olives are picked by hand by the whole family and by our guests.
This kind of harvesting (instead of beating and other mechanical methods) grants for the integrity of fruit and its perfect preservation up to the moment of cold crushing that always occurs within 24-36 hours since the harvesting.
Wine – The process of production of Red Orcia Doc wine consist in a fermentation of moist in touch with marcs that during this phase releases a part of substances contained inside, such as anthocyans and tannins. The following phases are the wine drawing off with the tearing apart of marcs from moist, the decanting the refinement and aging.
At the end of that period the wine is bottled. Our Orcia Doc Wine is made only with Sangiovese grapes.
Services – Our guests can see and participate directly to the different activities that occur in the farm during the year: the grape harvest and the preparation of wine, the olives harvesting and the production of oil, the research of truffles, the production of hams and salami, the sowing and the cereals harvesting.
