Bagni San Filippo is a small place with spa in a hilly site (600 meters above sea level) placed in Tuscany at the borderline between the Crete landscape of Orcia Valley and the Amiata Mountain rich in woods and sources.

The place shows itself as impressive by the white calcium sediments made by water floods over which the village lays, that form featuring waterfalls facing over the White Ditch, a stag for tourists attracted by those wonderful nature masterpieces and by the freshness of surrounding bush.
The legend linked to the gushing out of prestigious waters attributed that to San Filippo Benizi,
of the florentine Order of Mary's Servants who lived there praying and meditating in 1276 to avoid being elected as a Pope in the Viterbo conclave.
As they were already frequented for healing in the Middle Age, they reached a high fame in the Renaissance, as it is witnessed in many famous books.
Many studies about water properties began as they were useful against bones illness and other pains.  
In 1800 many other scientific studies and detailed analysis extended their therapeutical validness besides of rheumatic and arthitic illnesses even for the gynaecological, dhermatological and breathing ones.
The waters of San Filippo Spa, Sulphureous-sulfate-bicarbonate hyperthermal (52° C) ,with natural muds are used in the spa building for bath therapy, mud and bath therapy, inhalations, nose showers
